Hey! Long time no see!

 This is my goat Creampuff
This is Honey Nut our best milker

Hey! So I haven't posted in a very long time. Sorry about that, I've been busy some days and just didn't get around to blogging on others. So alot has happened and I don't know if I can cover it all in one post of reasonable length but I'll try my best. I'll start with how we have eighteen inches of snow. Dad just finished plowing and cleaning of our ancient roof so it doesn't leak. We are getting started on finishing the house(we've lived here fifteen years and we still aren't done all the sheet rock). I still have a ton of farm animals. One of my runner duck hens was attacked by an ermine so she was living in my bedroom for two weeks before I moved her to the basement a few days ago. She is mending well and should be fully recovered in approximately two weeks more. I caught the ermine and his pelt is now on my bedroom wall. Nothing messes with my animals and gets away with it! Just ask the fox, mink, ermine, weasel(ermine with summer coat), and the hawk I beat with a stick when he tried to take my chicken. We have five goats and around forty chickens. also six ducks, two turkeys, and two geese. These are a few of my animals of which I keep boring you with. Have a nice day and I hope to see you soon! God Bless!

A Great Man Missed

Today is my Grandfather Canally's birthday. He was a great man in my eye's. He passed away on March 15, 2012 at the age of 80 something (the ages of my maternal grandparents is practically a national secret!). My Grandfather (whom we called Pop-Pop) was the biggest and most devoted Notre Dame fan to ever live. He had Notre Dame hats, caps, gloves, socks, jackets, shirts, pajamas, blankets, and everything else possible. Every year on Christmas Eve he would read us the book 'Twas the night before Christmas'. He of course altered the text a little more to his Irish Language (in other words he would use a couple of swears, but that was almost his trademark). I can still hear his voice reading the story, at the end when Santa says "to all a goodnight" He ads all of our names and the names of the teletubbies' names (because I rather enjoyed them when I was a child). I will really miss that Christmas tradition. He was not only my grandfather but my godfather as well. I guess nobody would really understand what kind of a person he was unless they knew him well. He was one of those people who would seem to be a grouchy old man when you first met him, but eventually you'd begin to see the soft, loving, caring, and lovable man he really was.

Pro-Life message from Barlow-Girl

Barlow-Girl has always been a favorite band of mine, especially now.
Did anyone ever notice how everybody that is pro-choice has already been born?

Partridge Hunting

Well, I guess I have been a little behind on my posts haven't I? I'll have to get better at that.
So, Saturday I went Partridge hunting with my Father and younger brother. It was a VERY long day. We got up at 3:30 a.m., left the house at 4:45 a.m., got breakfast at a nearby gas station/restaurant, got to our hunting destination at about 8:00 a.m. So we hunted up and down about a gazillion sided roads. My younger brother got the first partridge of the day, which also happened to be his first partridge. He was really excited. Dad got the next one because my shot was high by about half a foot and then my gun jammed(it was a semi-automatic),so no second shot for me. Dad let me use his gun for the rest of the day, I like that gun a lot  It was a mossberg 835 12 gauge pump action. Awesome gun. We stopped at an old plane runway for lunch at 1:30. Dad had a hard time getting the coleman stove going, and started talking to it! The hot dogs were very good though. After taking a few pictures of the runway for my second youngest brother(he goes nuts over that kind of stuff), it was back to hunting. After hunting for a few more hours with now partridge in sight I figured the chances of me getting one were slim. I was wrong, fortunately. I got three partridge by the end of the day! Unfortunately, Dad and my younger brother didn't get anymore. We got home at about 9:45 p.m. and didn't finish cleaning the partridge until 10:30 p.m. Overall we had a blast. I am looking forward to more trips to come. I will (hopefully) try deer and/or turkey hunting this season. Well, have a great day!
God Bless!

Hello High school

It's here already. Another summer gone, another fall here. So much has changed since I was five. Time sure doesn't slow down for long. It seems like just yesterday that I was down wading through the pond with my best friend stuffing frogs in my pockets, and feeding them "worm soup".  When I was ten it was Little House On The Prairie, schoolhouse, and cowboys and Indians with my older sister. We even played high school by taking our school books and setting them in a box set on it's side and pretending they were our lockers. After setting up our "lockers" we would take some of our books, stuff them into our sponge bob and lambchop backpacks and pretend to ride the bus to school. When you are home-schooled you begin to wonder what it would be like to go to public school. Sometimes you wish you could go to public school. High school is when we get the option of going to the local High school or staying home-schooled for the remaining four years of the required school. When these options were put before me this summer I took some time to think, I would go back and forth between the pros and cons of going to the high school and the pros and cons of staying home-schooled. It wasn't a very hard decision though. I eventually decided on home-school. I still wonder though what it would be like to go to High school. Would I have the kind of friendships I see in movies and sometimes in real life? I won't know I guess.
I am not an un-socialized home-school kid, that is usually how people view us home-schoolers. We will get questions like-"what about socialization?" and "how do you learn at the same level and rate as public school kids?". Well as far as socialization goes we do pretty good. We have home-school co-ops, different home-schoolers will get together and the parents will help teach different subjects. Here's an example-If Mr. Jones is really good at math and Mrs. White is super at History then they will help eachothers kids in those subjects.
This school year will be quite different from the last couple of years. I am used to having my older sister around to help with not only my school but with my younger siblings school as well. She graduated from high school (from home) in August of 2010 and remained at home as she had planned until she got married. She helped with the school and such as usual until she got married last March. My older brother has gone to college for almost four years(maybe five) and he met a wonderful young woman there. They have known eachother for 2 years now and are engaged to get married in June 2013.
This is bound to be an adventures school year. Well I should go finish my Magellan report. I will hopefully be back before too long with updates. See you later!
